Background
Rebekah Sterling joined the department in 2013 and specializes in political theory. Her research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of democratic theory and the politics of migration and mobility. At William & Mary, she has taught Introduction to Political Theory as well as classes on the history of political thought, the political theory of borders, migration, citizenship, and sovereignty, and theories of democracy, dissent, and protest. She holds a BA from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, an MPhil from the University of Glasgow, and an MA and PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles.
