Minoring in RPSS
The minor in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies focuses on the Russian language, and the culture, history and politics of Russia and the countries within the sphere of Soviet influence. You will gain an understanding of the underpinnings of societal change as well as the factors influencing rapidly evolving current events. An RPSS minor will enhance your career opportunities in both the U.S. and abroad.
The RPSS minor requires that you earn 18 credit hours in courses on Russian language, culture, history and politics. Language courses you take as prerequisites for the required courses do not count towards the total credits for the minor. You are not required to work with a faculty advisor when planning how you will complete the minor, but all RPSS faculty will help you if you ask. To declare a minor complete the Declaration of Academic Minor form [pdf] and have it signed by the Program Director. Turn in the completed form to the Registrar's Office.
