Minor in Latin American Studies
The minor in Latin American Studies will give you the ability to understand the academic frameworks used to investigate the cultures of Latin America. You will engage with the people, economies, cultures and politics of one of the world's most dynamic and diverse region.
Our minor is extremely flexible, and designed to allow you a broad exploration of our discipline. No more than 50% of the credit hours you take for the minor may be from any one academic department. This will allow you to take the perspective of different disciplines.
You do not need an advisor to declare a minor in Latin American Studies. Complete the Declaration of Academic Minor form [pdf] and have it approved by the LAS Program Director. Turn the approved form in to the Registrar's Office.
