Plan of Study
A major in Chemistry requires a significant number of prerequisite courses. With proper planning, most students manage to fit all prerequisite and required courses into 4 years.
If you are getting a late start with Chemistry and are missing prerequisites, you may be able to take them in the summer. One easy solution is to take Physics 101-102 with labs in the summer. You may do this at either W&M or another pre-approved institution. You must take courses required for the major at W&M. But - Physics is a prerequisite, not a required major course, so you may take it away from W&M.
There are other possible paths through the major. Your faculty advisor can help you plan the sequence that best fits your needs. The [[chemis, Chemistry Office]] in ISC 1039 (757-221-2540) can be of assistance if you need help selecting an advisor.
