The Louis E. Catron Grant for Artistic Development is awarded to a number of students in the creative and performing arts each year. Grants support artistic growth through off-campus learning opportunities, such as academic courses, studio classes, hands-on experiences, or a combination of these. Grants typically support travel, which was prohibited this past year due to COVID-19.
Despite pandemic restrictions, 2020 Catron grant recipients engaged in a diverse array of remote learning experiences. This semester, instead of the usual in-person event, we invite you to explore this virtual gallery to see some of the excellent work students produced during this challenging year.
Participants in this year's virtual gallery had the opportunity to display any visual, video, or written work that they produced as a result of their Catron funding OR to reflect on the artistic skills and insight gained through their experience.
Click on a student name below or on the sidebar menu to explore their gallery page. Each page features a short bio, including a description of each student's Catron-funded experience, and a sample of their work and/or short reflection on their experience.
