Graduate Student Position in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering
The Ba.M.M. Lab is dedicated to developing advanced biomedical materials tailored to the specific needs of musculoskeletal tissues. Our work leverages cutting-edge techniques, including 3D bioprinting and biomaterial synthesis, to address clinical challenges such as comorbidities, sex, gender, and other patient-specific factors. By bridging engineering, biology, and clinical science, our mission is to create inclusive and adaptable solutions that transform regenerative medicine.
Key Responsibilities
As a doctoral researcher, you will:
- Design and characterize bio-adaptable materials for musculoskeletal applications.
- Develop and optimize 3D bioprinting methods and bioink formulations.
- Conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate biomaterial-tissue interactions.
- Investigate the impact of clinical factors (e.g., diabetes, bone age, hormonal influences) on biomaterial performance.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across engineering, biology, and clinical sciences.
- Disseminate research findings through high-impact publications and conference presentations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in applied science, biomedical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
- Experience in biomaterial synthesis, 3D bioprinting, or biological assays.
- Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific interpretation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, or musculoskeletal biology.
- Experience with 3D printing software (e.g., CAD) and bioprinting techniques.
- Familiarity with advanced characterization methods (e.g., microscopy, spectroscopy, rheology, molecular biology).
- A record of published research or presentations.
What We Offer
- Access to state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced 3D bioprinters and biomaterials characterization tools.
- Personalized mentorship and career development support, including training in grant writing and leadership.
- Opportunities to present research at prestigious conferences and publish in leading journals.
- A supportive and collaborative academic environment committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
