Research Centers
The Anthropology Department sponsors two research Centers:

the American Indian Resource Center, which brings regional Native peoples together with scholars and students for a variety of research and arts programs; and
-
the Institute for Historical Biology, which conducts research in human comparative osteology.
W&M is the home to two other centers:
-
the Center for Archaeological Research, which conducts archaeological surveys, excavations, and analysis for a variety of government and private organizations; and
-
the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture, which promotes scholarship on North America from 1450 to 1820.
