Submit Story Ideas
The video team is always looking for noteworthy news and stories about exceptional students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, programs and initiatives. We need you to be brand champions and help us recognize the excellent work in the Tribe community.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for all stories, especially those that are visually engaging, to help tell the William & Mary story. Some areas in which we are particularly interested:
- Scholarships
- Teaching Excellence
- Alumni Engagement
- Engaged Learning, Collaboration and Innovation
- Leadership Initiatives
- William & Mary in the World
- Civic Engagement
What do we do with the story ideas?
The Director of Video will evaluate submitted story ideas and assign a producer to follow-up when appropriate. The video may then be used in multiple applications including the Alumni Magazine, social media or other venues.
Generally, every story has a place, although some may not be appropriate for video. For example, stories about grants and awards rarely appeal to a broad audience and are discouraged. Stories that focus on the work that is being done as a result of a grant are of greater interest and will be considered.
