Vivian Hamilton

Professor of Law and Director, Center for Racial & Social Justice

Project: Adolescents' Civil Rights

About the Research
Professor Hamilton researches adolescent capacity and its implications for public policies. Her work, for example, has helped persuade legislators in a number of states (including Virginia) pass laws to prohibit child marriage--which disproportionately harms girls--and raise the presumptive marriage age to 18.
