William & Mary is a member of the Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN) which is composed of universities and other institutions of higher learning in the United States and elsewhere that are committed to encouraging the development of public interest technology and growing a new generation of civic-minded technologists. PIT-UN members and affiliates are committed to the development of innovative curricula, research, and experiential learning that will enhance and expand public interest technology and public interest technologists.
As a PIT-UN member, William & Mary is committed to launching or strengthening initiatives that promote civic-minded, inclusive, and ethical technology and technology-related education and research. As the nation's second-oldest institution of higher learning, William & Mary’s roots in the liberal arts and sciences complements its current status as a major university with robust science and technology and related study and research.
