George Greenia, Professor Emeritus of Hispanic Studies, received a Resolution of Commendation by the Virginia Senate of the Commonwealth’s General Assembly. Authorized by a bill passed in 2018 sponsored by Virginia Senator Monty Mason and Delegate Mike Mullin, Mason presented the commendation to Prof. Greenia in his Williamsburg office. The Resolution cited in particular Greenia's international scholarship, teaching, leadership in Phi Beta Kappa, the William & Mary Institute for Pilgrimage Studies, and championing LGBTQ rights over the past forty years.
