W&M Esports makes their mark at GAMEMason 2023!
On Friday March 3rd and Saturday March 4th, the William & Mary Esports Program competed for their second year at the GAMEMason LAN, located at George Mason University. The Program sent four teams, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and VALORANT.
For many, this was their first experience traveling for esports competition and competing in a LAN environment, and newcomers felt welcomed by the guidance provided by their more experienced teammates. This dynamic defined the competition for all teams throughout the weekend, who enjoyed success and relished in the scouting opportunities provided, as many of the 15 other schools present constititute their competitive rivals in leagues such as the Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF).
