Lemon Project Symposium
The commemoration planning committee for the 50th anniversary of the first African American residential students collaborated with the Lemon Project on its 8th annual spring symposium, the theme of which was Desegregating Higher Education in Virginia: William & Mary in Historical Context. The incomparable poet/writer Nikki Giovanni provided the keynote address. Alumni, William & Mary students/staff/faculty, community members, and visiting students/faculty from the University of Richmond conducted roundtables and panels on the topic.
