The Haven currently offers in-person, virtual, or phone appointments. From the button below, you can select your appointment format, date, and time. Due to an increase in requests for appointments, we can not always accommodate requests for particular staff members.

Drop-in Hours are also available with Confidential Peer Advocates*
  • Sunday through Thursday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
  • Friday & Saturday: 12:00pm-5:00pm

*Please note that during add/drop and exams, The Haven drop-in hours will vary to accommodate peer advocate schedules. Drop-in hours are not available during university closures, holidays, and breaks. During these times, please make an appointment using the link above.

Time-Sensitive Crisis

If you are experiencing a crisis that is time-sensitive, please contact the W&M Counseling Center at (757) 221-3620. If you are concerned for your safety, please call William & Mary Police at (757) 221-4596. If The Haven is closed please contact Avalon Center at (757) 258-5051 for confidential 24/7 advocacy and support regarding sexual assault, dating abuse, or stalking.

Emily Burkholder is the Graduate Assistant for The Haven, and a current student in the Masters in Couples, Marriage, and Family Counseling Program. Emily attended William & Mary as an undergraduate and volunteered with The Haven as a Peer Advocate, worked in sexual misconduct prevention and education on campus through Someone You Know, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Linguistics.

Liz Cascone is the Senior Director for Gender-Based Violence Resources & Advocacy Services, which includes The Haven and Adaptable Resolution Initiatives. Liz has extensive experience in trauma-informed advocacy and support, prevention planning, program development and clinical social work. Liz's approach is rooted in public health and social justice principles. Liz received a master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000.
