New Student Inventory

Completing this inventory provides the Office of Student Transition Engagement Programs (STEP) and the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs (OUAA) with an opportunity to get to know the newest members of our community so our offices can prepare the campus for your arrival in mid-January.

Required responses within the questionnaire will be used to match you with a pre-major advisor, a member of the W&M faculty who will work with you until you declare a major at W&M. Your pre-major advisor specializes in advising on the college curriculum and the liberal arts experience. W&M tries to match all incoming students with a faculty member in one of their areas of interest. We ask that you provide us with information about your educational background, areas of interest, and what you want to accomplish at W&M. Think about the questions carefully and respond honestly; this information will help us individualize your experience and enable you to make better informed decisions regarding your academic and co-curricular experiences at W&M.

Optional questions are just that - optional. We encourage you to share as much, or as little, information as you are comfortable. All responses will remain private as this information will help STEP tailor the communications and programming provided to you and your peers over the next 18+ months.
