College Studies
Available January 2. Part 1 Due January 12; Part 2 Due January 15
All new students who have accepted an offer of admission and made a tuition deposit will be enrolled into an online mini-course known as College Studies.
Completing this mini-course is an important step in understanding academic expectations. Part 1 of the course provides you with information that is essential for planning your schedule and preparing for registration. Part 2 teaches you the fundamentals of information literacy, introducing you to the concepts and skills you need for a successful transition to college-level work.
College Studies is delivered through Blackboard, W&M’s learning management system. You should be able to complete the entire course in about 5 to 7 hours. You can choose to complete the contents all at one time or in increments. Your peer advisor will send you an email when the course is available and will assist you in completing activities in Part 1 (due January 12). Research librarians from William & Mary Libraries can answer any questions you have about Part 2 (due January 15).
