Jeffress Memorial Trust Awards Program in Interdisciplinary Research
General Policy Guidelines
The purpose of the Jeffress Trust Awards Program in Interdisciplinary Research is to support investigators within seven years of their initial faculty appointment in nonprofit academic or research institutions in the state of Virginia. The Trust awards are high impact, innovative projects that integrate computational and quantitative scientific methodologies across a broad range of scientific disciplines.
The research areas that are currently eligible for Jeffress support include astronomy, biosciences, chemistry, computer sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, material science, mathematics and physics. Currently, research in social, economic, and behavioral sciences, including psychology, are outside the scope of Jeffress funding.
How to Apply
Up to four applicants may be nominated by their home institutions, inclusive of all schools and colleges therein. Principal Investigators are subject to internal review prior to applying to the Jeffress Trust.
The proposal submission process is now done online with hard copies to follow electronic submission. It is the investigator's responsibility to register with the Jeffress website and submit the complete proposal package by the deadline indicated. As always, Sponsored Programs review and a signed institutional endorsement is still required. Full information on the proposal process and terms of application are on the sponsor website: Health Resources In Action.
