W&M students of all majors are invited to apply to work alongside conservation partners and faculty mentors to complete an applied research project to address a conservation challenge. As part of the IIC’s year-long program starting in Jan 2025, students receive a stipend and travel support to complete the project over the summer. Many projects include conducting international field work.

The Saint Andrew’s Society of the State of New York provides scholarships to promote cultural interchange and goodwill between Scotland and the United States by offering $35,000 towards tuition, housing, and related fees for graduate school in Scotland.

To be eligible for the St. Andrew's scholarship, applicants must:

• Be senior undergraduate students who will obtain a Bachelor’s degree from William & Mary in the Spring of 2025
• Must have evidence of Scottish descent
• Must demonstrate financial need.

Every summer, Charles Center awards over half a million dollars in grants to fund summer undergraduate research in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

There are two categories of grants available through the online application, open to undergraduate students in every major:

Summer Research Grant: Unless otherwise noted, these awards are $4,000 to support seven full-time weeks of research. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to apply.

Honors Fellowship: These awards are $5,000 to support ten full-time weeks of pre-Honors research. Juniors planning to complete Departmental Honors during their senior year are eligible to apply. 

The 2025 application will reopen in late October and and will be due February 17, 2025. 

The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) provides funding for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students to pursue 8 to 10-weeks of intensive language learning in one of 12 languages designated as being of critical need. Study of Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Japanese or Korean may be undertaken virtually through CLS Spark. All other languages are studied in-country through the original CLS program.

Undergraduate & graduate students are welcome to apply for funding to pursue intensive language learning for up to one year. Approved languages are those designated as being of “critical need” by the Federal government.

The Fulbright Scholarship Program supports US citizens to spend a year abroad conducting research, studying, or teaching. Graduating seniors, and those holding Bachelor's degrees, but not PhDs, are eligible to apply. Selection criteria for a Fulbright Scholarship is based on quality and feasibility of the proposal; academic record; language preparation; requirements of the program in individual countries and a variety of other factors.

Students & alumni interested in participating in W&M’s campus review process for the Fulbright program must declare their intent to apply by this campus deadline.
