Desk Phone (Audiocodes C455)
The approved desk phone model for general use is Audiocodes C455 IP Phone. Reasons you may want a desk phone include:
- Users who have specific ADA requirements where headsets cannot be used. (More information on hearing assistance)
- Shared phone lines staffed by more than one user.
- “Walk up” phones in public areas or conference rooms.
- Users without access to a computer that can connect to the Teams platform.
- Credit card acceptance (PCI compliance)
Ordering a Desk Phone
The phone must be ordered through buyW&M, and distributed through W&M IT as it requires firmware udpates and programming prior to use.
- Go to Request IT and sign in
- Select Buy Something
- Select Telephone
- Select Deskphone/Analog Line
- Fill out the form and make your selection in the dropdown for Phone
- Click Submit
W&M IT will contact you once your phone is ready for pick-up. There could be a considerable waiting period between placing an order and receiving the phone.

Need to Switch Devices?
Desk phones are limited in functionality compared to Teams Calls on the computer client. Teams Calls allows you to easily switch between devices, if you are signed in to the phone with your user name.
If you are on a desk phone call, but need to jump to the desktop client, just open up your computer client and a banner at the top of the window will prompt you to switch. Click on that prompt and resume your call from the computer.
