IT Fist Bump: Tiffany Beker
Part of W&M Information Technology’s mission is to develop and nurture meaningful relationships and collaborations on campus and beyond. Our work would not be possible without the partnerships we have across campus, and so many of our colleagues deserve a thank you and a (virtual) fist bump!
In this issue, we’d like to feature Tiffany Beker M.S. ’06, director of digital marketing and a valuable member of University Marketing.
Tiffany has worked with various members of the W&M community since she started working at the university in 2010. Scott Stewart, a technology architect in IT, recalls working with Tiffany even before her time in marketing. Scott highlights her strong technical background and proactive approach to problem-solving, appreciating how she consistently suggests viable solutions that fit the challenges at hand. Scott values their similar approach to solving problems and Tiffany’s ability to navigate systems.
Erin Fryer, IT’s director of communications & engagement, has also had the pleasure of working with Tiffany in multiple capacities over the years. Erin admires Tiffany's intimate knowledge of W&M and her ability to anticipate the community's response to everything from major announcements to single social media posts. Tiffany's insight and "gut checks" during projects are always appreciated. Erin particularly recalls Tiffany's significant contribution to the project team during the retirement of alumni email, where Tiffany helped strategize a phased rollout that minimized disruption to alumni.
Additionally, Tiffany is known for her enthusiasm in volunteering for campus events. Whether it’s Convocation or Commencement, you can always spot her sporting some fantastic green and gold sneakers, ready to lend a hand.
Thank you for all you do, Tiffany!
