Appreciation for IT Staff
The College's annual Employee Appreciation Day celebrates William & Mary staff members and recognizes those who have longstanding service to the College and the Commonwealth. The day is marked by a lunch, which this year, due to rain, was held in the Sadler Center. Rain or shine, the lunch is an annual reminder of the significant contribution by the staff to the W&M mission.
Among those honored for long-term service at the Employee Appreciation Day lunch was IT's Myron Hall. Hall has been at the College for 40 years now. She started in 1971 in Audio/Visual Media and since 1999 she has managed the Classroom Support division of IT.
At the lunch, President Reveley said that Hall's team is "totally committed to creativity, responsiveness, and reliability, and to setting William & Mary's classroom support apart from other universities—even those with much deeper pockets than ours."
The Information Technology department highly values those staff members who, like Hall, have dedicated their careers to the W&M campus. "IT depends on people who bring both technical expertise and institutional knowledge to their job," says Courtney Carpenter, Chief Information Officer of the College. "We appreciate our staff's continuing service to the College as well as their commitment to providing outstanding technological services to the College community."
