Submit a Proposal
We invite conservation partners and faculty members to submit proposals for applied research projects that advance solutions to biodiversity conservation challenges.
We welcome applications for our different programs at various times throughout each year. Partners and faculty can submit proposals for our year-long program, short-term projects for our semester-long research program, or projects for our Conservation GIS Lab.
Application periods
- Year-long program: Applications accepted in the spring.
- Semester-long program: Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
- Conservation GIS lab: Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
Join our mailing list to be notified of the application openings.
For all our programs, we look for interdisciplinary projects that require diverse skills and perspectives. Research ideas do not need to be well defined at the proposal stage, as we work with partners and faculty to co-design and narrow the scope of the projects so the can be completed in the allowed time frame. Projects submitted by faculty must have an external conservation partner collaborating.
Outside the application periods, we are always interested in discussing opportunities to collaborate on applied research. We look for interdisciplinary biodiversity conservation opportunities that engage diverse skills and perspectives.
Please feel free to reach out to Erica Garroutte, IIC’s Research Program Manager, with questions or to discuss potential research projects. Thank you for your interest in partnering with the IIC to advance conservation solutions.
