Human-Carnivore Conflict and Herder's Ethical Dilemmas for Conservation in Annapurna, NepalBiography
Kate Marston '25 is from Arlington, Virginia. Inspired by her childhood outdoor education program, she is passionate about supporting communities as a primary outcome of geoscience research. She hopes to pursue a career in collaborative environmental research that integrates policy and conservation solutions.
At W&M, Kate maps deforestation in Madagascar community-managed forests in the IIC's Conservation GIS Lab, conducts applied research through the IIC Conservation Research Program, and works as a Tribe Adventure Program Trip Leader.
In her free time, she can be found crafting backpacking recipes for her next trip, playing ultimate frisbee, or writing songs on her guitar.
