Bio
Major Michael P. Kreuzer is the Director of Operations, 497th Operations Support Squadron, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. In this capacity, he is responsible to the squadron commander for overseeing operations for a 200-member squadron responsible for mission planning, fusion analysis, training, systems support, and tactics, techniques, and procedures development for Distributed Ground System-1 (DGS-1) in direct support of intelligence and combat operations worldwide. Previously, he served as Executive Officer, 17th Training Wing, Goodfellow Air Force Base TX, where he was responsible for supporting the Wing Commander in the oversight of 11,000 students and 800 staff training Joint Intelligence, Firefighter, and Technical Applications Professionals. He further served as Flight Commander and Instructor in the Intelligence Officer Training Flight, where he was responsible for initial skills training of all USAF intelligence officers, the training of international officers in partnership with the U.S. State Department, and mid-career officers in the Intelligence Master Skills Course.
Major Kreuzer entered active duty in 2002, earning a bachelor’s degree in History from the US Air Force Academy. He is a veteran of combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, having distinguished himself as the director of CJTF-Troy’s Counter-IED Special Programs cell, Multi-National Division North, COB Speicher Iraq; and as the Kapisa Provincial Reconstruction Team S2 and TF Lafayette Fusion Cell Liaison Officer, FOB Morales Frazier, Afghanistan. He is a Top Third graduate of Squadron Officer School, an Honor Graduate of the USAF AOC Formal Training Unit, and was the 2007 11th Air Force Intelligence Officer of the Year. He holds a PhD in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University as well as Master’s Degrees from the University of Alaska Anchorage in Public Administration and American Military University in Strategic Intelligence.
