Important Info for Loan Recipients
Plus Loan Borrowers
If an undergraduate Plus loan proceed is more than your total semester tuition, fees and other costs, you may be eligible for a refund. By law, without written permission from the parent, the Plus loan must be refunded to the parent. If applicable, a refund check will be mailed to the parent's address.
The borrower has the right to cancel all or a portion of the loan and have the proceeds returned to the lender. If the borrower wishes to cancel, they must notify the Financial Aid Office at (757) 221-2420 within 14 days from the date of disbursement.

Direct Loan Borrowers
If your federal Direct Loan proceeds are more than your total semester tuition, fees and other costs, you may be eligible for a refund. If applicable, a refund will be direct deposited to your bank account (beginning January 2013) or a check will be mailed to your local address or your campus post office box.
You have the right to cancel all or a portion of the loan and have the proceeds returned to the lender. If you wish to cancel, you must notify the Financial Aid Office at (757) 221-2420 within 14 days from the date of disbursement.

Alternative (Private) Loan Borrowers
If your student loan proceeds are more than your total semester tuition, fees and other costs, you may be eligible for a refund. When requested by the student, a refund will be direct deposited (beginning January 2013) or a paper check mailed to your local address or your campus post office box.
