State Guidance & Resources
Internal controls must reasonably ensure that financial information is timely and accurate, that assets are safeguarded and properly accounted for, and that we comply with all prevailing laws and administrative regulations of the Commonwealth and Federal government.
The State Comptroller requires us to certify annually that adequate internal accounting controls are in place or disclose areas where deficiencies in internal controls have been noted.
- The ARMICS (Office of the Comptroller) 09-2015 (pdf) document contains detailed key components regarding these procedures.
- The Topic 10305 CAPP Manual (pdf) documents the policies and procedures for the Commonwealth's centralized accounting and financial systems.
- For more information, please visit the ARMICS Reference (Virginia Department of Accounts).
William & Mary and associated organizations must operate within these guidelines.
