21st-Century Museums: Curation, Collaboration, and Community
Stavan Bhakta
Stavan is a senior from Minneapolis, Minnesota and is studying Business Analytics: Data Science. On campus, Stavan is involved with "The Gentlemen of the College" A Cappella group, along with AKPsi, SASA, and Student Assembly Public Affairs. Off campus, you will find him either playing Dungeons & Dragons, writing short stories, dueling with lightsabers, or playing the electric bass.
MV Holler
MV is a sophomore studying English at William & Mary. Outside of the classroom, you can find her watching the latest horror film in the Gamma Phi Beta house, playing IM volleyball with friends, or attending LGBTQ+ advocacy club meetings. Post graduation she hopes to earn her M.A. in Secondary Education and eventually teach high school English.
Henry Hearle
Henry Hearle is a junior at the College of William & Mary majoring in Finance with a concentration in Sustainability. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated from Phillips Academy Andover. He is an analyst for the Mason Investment Club and also a member of the club sailing team. Outside of school, Henry enjoys fishing, sailing, mountain biking, skiing, running, and anything outdoors. He is thrilled to be participating in 21st-Century Museums: Curation, Collaboration, and Community and excited to study in our Nation's capital.
Joey Horner
Joey is a junior studying computer science at W&M. He is taking the 21st century museums seminar. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and video games. He is from McLean, Virginia and went to high school in D.C. He is excited to come back to D.C. to study there again and is interested in creating a deeper understanding of modern museums and their various functions.
Evan Lees
Evan is a senior at W&M studying Government and Psychology. He is hoping to attend law school post-graduation. He enjoys going on runs, reading fiction novels, and watching sports/movies with his friends. He is excited to learn about 21st Century Museums!
Lucy Keegan
Lucy is a sophomore at William & Mary studying French and History. She is originally from Seattle, WA and, as an ROTC cadet, will begin a period of service in the Army upon graduation. Lucy enjoys sewing, museums, and being with friends. She is excited to be a participant in the D.C. Winter Seminar of 2023.
Olivia Vanderhart
Olivia Vanderhart is a sophomore Education major. After her undergraduate years, she hopes to get a Masters in Educational Policy. She hopes to expand her conception of what a museum is and how it serves the public and the world at large. This semester she joined the Gamma Alpha branch of the Phi Mu sorority at William and Mary and looks forward to being an initiated member. In her first year at college she dipped her toe in many organizations including Best Buddies and She's the First. She enjoys painting, spending time with her friends, and going on walks in the woods by Matoaka.
Manvi Nair
Manvi Nair is a junior from Centreville, Virginia, studying Public Policy and Data Science. Manvi is passionate about human rights and environmental justice and sustainability. She wants to learn how the intersection of data and policy can help implement better social and fiscal policies for women's rights. On campus Manvi is a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, the Griffin Bhangra dance team, and the Institute for Integrative Conservation Research program.
Salvatore Rego
Salvatore Rego is a senior at William & Mary studying physics and mathematics. After moving out of Virginia to Lawrenceville, NJ, he decided to come back for college. Sal is currently involved in numerous groups affiliated with the school such as Inhuman Fitness, The Gentlemen of the College acapella group, and Sigma Pi. He is currently undertaking his senior honors thesis in the Ultracold AMO lab, as well as an independent project with Professor Yang.
Pelumi Sholagbade
Pelumi is a junior, an English major and Creative Writing minor. They are involved in Inside Out Theatre, LIPS, Pink Tax Comedy, and The W.M. Review. When not in class or running around campus like a headless chicken, she can be found getting a bagel sandwich from The Bake Shop or reading in the Gradplex courtyard. After graduation, Pelumi hopes to move to Richmond and pursue a career in the literary arts.
Cecilia Weaver
Cecilia is from Audubon, Pennsylvania and is pursuing a double major in History and Government. She is involved in Pep Band, Circle K International, the James Blair Historical Review, and the Committee for Contextualizing Landmarks and Iconography. She also conducts oral histories in Special Collections at Swem Library and does research with the Bray School Lab. Cecilia has a passion for making history accessible, and hopes to put her knowledge of public history into practice by working in museums.
