Fall 2010 Program Scholars

	Janaye Adkins '11 A dedicated student, humble servant, and sophisticated lady, Janaye Adkins is a senior at the College. Her interests in film, music, and art have readily developed into a Literary and Cultural Studies Major, whereupon she hopes to pursue Arts Administration, Journalism or Film after school. Janaye is an active member of the production team for the College'a Global Film Festival and serves as a student liason for the Muscarelle Museum of Art. She is kept grounded through active service in her church and in the community as a leader and mentor. Janaye is the future owner of her own lounge/art gallery. She will be interning at the National Endowment for the Arts.
	Catherine Barth '12 Catherine Barth is a junior English and Art History major at the College. She participates in Young Democrats on campus and also works part time at a local deli. She has also been involved with the Global Film and Music Festival at W&M, the College Music Journal Festival in New York City, and hopes to attend more film and music festivals in the future. After graduation, she would like to continue her studies at a graduate program abroad. In her spare time, Catherine likes to sit down with a cup of tea and a good book, listen to music, attend concerts, or visit museums. She will be interning at Arena Stage.
	Shannon Beydler '12 Shannon Beydler is a sophomore English and Government double major at the College. On campus she is a member of Students for Belize Education, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Maasai American Student Alliance, Director of Campus Outreach for the service committee of the International Relations Club, and has studied abroad at Cambridge University in England. Off campus she works part time at Aroma's coffeehouse . She loves traveling, going for runs, sipping a good latte, and sitting outside with the newest issue of Vogue or the travel section of the New York Times. Right now she is contemplating law school or joining the Peace Corps after college. She will be interning at the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting.
	Lily Borchert '12 Lily Borchert is a junior Government and English major at the College. She is an active member of the William and Mary Club Ice Hockey Team and the social sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. She grew up in New England in a small rural town and is considering continuing on to law school after graduation. Lily enjoys reading, drawing, friends, and The New York Times. She will be interning at C-SPAN.
	Caitlin Fairchild '11 Caitlin Fairchild is a senior Art History major at the College.  Growing up in a military family she has lived in numerous places, but her current home is Las Vegas, Nevada. On campus, Caitlin is a staff writer and the photography editor for the Flat Hat, as well as a member of Alpha Chi Omega social sorority.  In the past she has interned for the Muscarelle Museum of Art and the Contemporary Arts Center of Las Vegas. Caitlin also enjoys taking on free lance photography assignments.She will be interning at The Washingtonian.
	Ingrid Heiberg '11 Ingrid Heiberg is a senior at the College majoring in French and Literary and Cultural Studies (film track), and is excited to learn and work in the world of film in DC in the fall. Besides watching movies (usually for class, sometimes for fun), Ingrid is involved with the Wesley Foundation on campus. She studies Japanese, and also works as a tutor for the French Department. She enjoys learning and helping others to learn foreign languages. She hopes to intern for a film festival this fall. She will be interning at the Environmental Film Festival.
	Charlie Heyer '11 Charlie Heyer is a Music and Psychology major at the College.  He is originally from Arlington, Virginia.  Charlie is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is involved in personality research with Prof. Todd Thrash.  He is also active in the Appalachian Music Ensemble and the student band John Kelly & the Quick Snipe.  In his spare time, Charlie enjoys writing music, playing piano and guitar, and exploring Colonial Williamsburg. He will be interning at Evolving Communications.
	Teresa Ingraham '11 Teresa is from Germantown, MD and is an English and Psychology double major at the college.  She has been part of Global Village Project - Guatemala, the Mosaic House, and SASA's fall performance, Expressions.  She also works at the Writing Resources Center as a tireless advocate of commas, topic sentences, and theses.  In her free time, she indulges her three great loves: chocolate, coffee, and good books. She will be interning at the National Endowment for the Arts.
	Molly King '11 Molly King is a Literary & Cultural Studies and Latin American Studies double major at the College. She is involved with various organizations on campus including the Wesley Foundation and the Museum-University Student Exchange. She is from Omaha, NE, but loves the East Coast and is so excited to be in DC for the semester! Aside from academics, Molly's interests include playing the piano, art, and people. She will be interning at Downtown DC Business Improvement District.
	Chris Mariles '12 Chris Mariles is a junior at the College majoring in Literary & Cultural Studies with a minor in Accounting. He is from Florida and hopes to pursue law school after graduation, specializing in entertainment and media law in either Los Angeles or New York City. In his free time, Chris can be found filming and taking pictures. He also works part-time at the Swem Media Center and has been actively involved in the Global Film Festival. Chris also enjoys practicing with the Judo Club (of which he was co-founder), working as the co-productions chair of the Latin American Student Union, and brushing up on his Japanse at the Japanese Language House. This summer, Chris will participate in a research fellowship with Professor Ann Marie Stock, focusing on Cuban cinema and a Cuban documentary initiative in Williamsburg.  He will be interning at NBC.
	Alice Massie '11 Alice Massie is a rising senior at the College, majoring in American Studies with a minor in Film Studies. She is from Arlington, Virginia. She works part time in a bookstore cafe and is a member of the Classic Movie Club and AMP Films Committee.  Alice loves studying the development of American culture and foreign cultures and how the two relate. In her spare time, she enjoys watching old films, traveling, reading, hanging out with friends, camping, and surfing. She would love to work with film preservation or production after graduation.  She will be interning at AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center.
	Jake Milnor '10 Jake Milnor is a Hispanic Studies major and senior at the College. He is actively involved with the Student Organization for Medical Outreach and Sustainability and the Nu Rho chapter of the service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. He is from Long Island, VA and hopes to find a career in foreign service. He enjoys spending as much time outdoors as he can. He will be interning at the Embassy of Spain.
	Ana Morioanu '11 Ana is a junior Government and French double major at the College. She is member of the Alma Matter Productions (AMP) Music Committee, a staff writer for the Flat Hat, and a member of the social sorority Delta Delta Delta.  Ana was born in Romania, grew up in Toronto, Canada and currently resides in Richmond, Virginia.  She hopes to pursue a career in print or media journalism as well as travel extensively around the world.   She has a love for languages, as she speaks French and Romanian fluently and is in the process of adding Spanish to that list. In her free time, Ana greatly enjoys European football, attending concerts, watching movies, and spending time with friends. She will be interning at NBC.
	Gloria Oh '11 Gloria Oh is a senior at the College majoring in English. In her time at the College, she has been involved in Bangladesh Relief Initiative for Children, Rita Welsh Adult Literacy Center and has volunteered at Swem Special Collections. She also writes for The Flat Hat and has studied abroad at Oxford University, England. She is currently from Midlothian, VA but has moved on average every three years of her life. After graduation, she plans on pursuing a career in journalism and media production. When not in class, she enjoys spending time with her family, getting lost in new places, cooking, and curling up with a good read.  She will be interning at NBC.
	Yune Pak '11 Yune Pak is a senior majoring in Literary and Cultural Studies and minoring in Art History. He revels at the sight of a good cup of joe, perhaps a symptom of clocking in too many hours at Aroma's, a local coffee house. When he's not at the library working on school assignments or at Aroma's pulling perfect espresso, he is most likely to be found at the Muscarelle Museum of Art, where he is currently curating an online exhibition on the noted Mexican photographer, Manuel Carrillo. Yune loves riding his bike (who is named Maurice), hosting picnics, and learning the magic of Reiki massages. After graduation, he hopes to conquer the universe. He will be interning at the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting.
	Rachel Wallace '12 Rachel Wallace is a junior majoring in Anthropology at the College. She is especially interested in Visual Anthropology and is intrigued by anything related to photography and identity. She can often be found attached to a camera-she shoots for The Colonial Echo, various clubs and classes, and for pleasure. Rachel is also a Teaching Fellow for the Sharpe Community Scholars Program and dedicates herself to service-learning. Rachel hails from Norfolk, Virginia, but hopes to call many other places "home" in the future. She adores music, libraries, movies, other cultures, thrift stores, outdoor naps, and tea. She will be interning at the White House.
