Academics
Course Requirements
While courses can be in any academic department (or interdisciplinary studies), they must fulfill either COLL 300 or COLL 350 requirements.
Gaining Course Approval
Once you have been selected to teach in the D.C. Winter Seminars, faculty will need to get started on the course approval process. Most often, your department chair or dean will allow you to use a topics course number if it works with your course title.
If you cannot get the courses/credits you need through existing course numbers or if you are teaching your course for the third time, you will need to petition EPC to create new courses. Visit the EPC site for more information on how to proceed and an online "New Course Application."
Please note: Only faculty can apply for EPC approval.
Student Load & Participation
D.C. Winter Seminars are capped at 25 students. The Registrar will automatically enroll selected students in your course.
