Test drive D.C. during the Washington Center's Saturday in the City
Head up to D.C. for the day on March 23rd to explore the capital and learn more about W&M's Campus in the City! This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the city, learn more about the Washington Center and Study in D.C., and make meaningful connections with W&M alumni in the D.C. area.
ScheduleSaturday, March 23rdBus to D.C., 6:30amMeet the bus outside the Sadler Center at 6:00am to depart for D.C. Welcome and Breakfast, 9:00-9:45amEnjoy breakfast and a welcome to D.C. reception at the Washington Center to prepare for the day. Explore D.C., 10:00am-1:00pmExplore D.C. by participating in a D.C. themed tour. There will be several tour options for students to choose from. This is a great opportunity to get to know the city better! Lunch, 1:00-1:45pmEnjoy lunch at the Washington Center from a delicious, local D.C. spot! Experiential Learning in D.C., 1:45-2:45pmJoin Study in D.C. staff to give you a taste of experiential learning at the Washington Center with some interactive academic activities. Break and Snacks, 2:45-3:00pmTake a quick break and enjoy some snacks from the Washington Center! Life in D.C., 3:00-4:00pmHear from recent W&M graduates and current students about their experiences being a young person in D.C. and how their Study in D.C. experiences impacted their time at W&M and beyond. Break and Student Apartment Tour, 4:00-4:40pmTake a quick break and explore the student housing provided by the Washington Center! Dinner, Networking Session, and Closing, 4:40-6:30pmEnjoy dinner from the Washington Center and have the opportunity to network and make meaningful connections with W&M alumni in the D.C. area to learn more about their lives and careers. Finally, celebrate the end of a great day in D.C. with dessert and swag! Bus to Williamsburg, 6:30pmGet on the bus at the Washington Center to head back to Williamsburg. |
