Sexual Harassment
Title IX's prohibition of sex discrimination includes prohibition of sexual harassment and sexual violence, including sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking. William & Mary is committed to creating and maintaining a campus environment free from all forms of sexual harassment. Retaliation against any person who makes a report of sexual harassment is strictly prohibited and punishable even if the person is not found responsible for the underlying harassment.
The Office of Compliance & Equity is responsible for ensuring faculty, staff and students are educated on our policy standards, the reporting obligations of mandatory reporters on campus and ways to for anyone to report all forms of sexual harassment, and the procedures for responding to and resolving complaints of policy violations. OC&E also ensures supportive measures are available for students or employees who experience sexual harassment regardless if they wish to pursue adjudicative measures.
