Impact of Giving

Here are a few programs and opportunities your donation can support:

$150 offers a scholarship for an incoming student to participate in our 7 Generations pre-orientation program.

$500 funds a W&M community partnerships forum which sparks new relationships, strengthen existing collaborations, and expand the impact of our work. Already having expanded our offerings, all of our partnerships gatherings continue to be at capacity.

$1000 covers the cost of voter education and registration drives: In 2020, 89% of registered W&M students cast their ballot, an increase of nearly 10% from the 2016 election. To continue educating students on the power of voting, advocacy, and civic engagement, the Voter Engagement Action Committee hosts multiple registration drives and information sessions.

$4,500 provides funding for a summer community-capacity internship in which students practice their civic and career skills while completing a signficant capacity-building project for a community organization.

$8,000 allows students access to community through our vans. Taking hundreds of trips to and from campus and community sites (including our local schools and community organizations and traveling for alternative breaks) puts real wear and tear on our vans. Each year brings regular maintenance and the excitement of fixing a new dent, flat tire, or flashing light.

$10,000 gives you the opportunity to name our space. We love our new suite in the expanded Sadler Center. Centralized access means more students can stop by for advising meetings, van key exchanges, and those vital unplanned conversations about the meaning of life. As we continue to settle into the suite, we want to see your name on the wall.
