Strategic Space Planning
Strategic Space Planning at William & Mary serves as a steward of indoor and outdoor spaces to meet the evolving needs of our historic campus. We manage six core responsibilities:
- Space Management
- Building Information
- GIS
- Move Administration and Space Identification
- Campus Maps
- Academic Space Management in support of the Provost
To help us achieve our goals, we use a part of our software called FAMIS (Facilities and Asset Management) that deals with managing space. This helps us keep track of different areas, the things in those areas, our inventory, and we can show which department owns, uses, or what each area is used for. We also provide current floor plans in PDF format, and soon we'll have them available in CAD format too. In the future, we're planning to have a website running alongside GIS AGOL (ArcGIS online) where you can find similar data and additional layers.
