Parking Deck Closure - Winter Break

Beginning Friday Dec 16, 2016 through Friday Jan 13, 2017 the Parking Deck will be closed for installation of the new LED lighting system.
This past year Parking Services worked with the Committe on Sustainability and was awarded a COS Green & Gold Grant to retrofit 176 Metal Hallide (MH) & High Pressure Sodium (HPS) light fixtures to more efficient and reliable LED fixtures. The new fixtures will increase and improve the ambient lighting levels in the deck, reduce dark zones in corners and stairwells, and provide a significant reduction in our energy consumption. This is a three phase project; the first two of which will be accomplished over the Winter Break. Light fixtures in the sub-level and levels 1 & 2 will be replaced at this time, with the third outdoor level slotted for install during Spring Break in March 2017. In addition to the replacemnt of the light fixtures, we will be painting the recessed areas of the overhead bays to remove dark shadows and allow for improved reflection and dispersal of the light.
