Green Meetings
Conference Services at William & Mary received the Virginia Green Certification for Conventions and Conference Centers. To qualify for this exclusive designation, facilities must verify that they provide their guests with the following: recycling, minimize the use of disposable food service products, water efficiency, energy conservation and offer a "green" or "environmentally-friendly" package for events (Virginia Green Convention & Conference Centers).
Virginia Green
We are a proud member of Virginia Green, a network of tourism-related organizations and programs that are committed to protecting the environment while promoting responsible tourism.
Virginia Green is run through a partnership among the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC), and the Virginia Hospitality and Travel Association (VHTA). The program seeks to reduce the environmental impacts of the tourism industry and raise environmental awareness.
Sustainable Dining at W&M
W&M Dining Services is also committed to reducing our environmental footprint and preserving natural resources. In our dining halls, we compost organic waste, provide reusable to-go containers, use recycled napkins, and work with local food producers.
