Virginia Symphony to perform free concert at W&M
The Virginia Symphony will kick off its “Symphony Under the Stars” concert series at William & Mary’s Lake Matoaka Amphitheatre on Thursday, August 28. The concert, sponsored by William & Mary, the W&M Student Assembly and the City of Williamsburg, will start at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The event will feature light classical and pops music. It will be the first of four free concerts that the symphony, which includes several members of W&M’s music faculty, will play in Hampton Roads as part of the series.
Guests are invited to bring family and friends, beach chairs and blankets. Personal coolers and picnic baskets will be permitted; however, no external alcohol will be allowed.
In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be held at Phi Beta Kappa Hall at 7:30 p.m.
The Lake Matoaka Amphitheatre is located at 121 Ukrop Way.
