Business Insider: W&M has the smartest students
William & Mary has the smartest students of any public university in the country, according to a new ranking by Business Insider.
The business and technology news website published its list of the 20 public colleges with the smartest students on Monday, using data collected by Niche, a college review website formerly known as College Prowler. Business Insider combined Niche’s rankings of schools with the smartest female students and smartest male students to create the list.
In the top spot on the ranking, William & Mary is ahead of the University of California, Berkeley at number two, the University of Virginia at number four, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill at number eight, among others.
The Business Insider ranking comes just weeks after William & Mary fans propelled the university to the top spot in news aggregation website The Wire’s “best colleges” bracket challenge.
