W&M Digest gets updated as part of newsletter project
Faculty and staff will soon notice a change in the look – and content – of the “W&M Digest.”
The daily internal email, which includes user-submitted announcements, will now also include news stories and events in a somewhat modified design. The changes are the first step in a plan to create an electronic newsletter for members of the university community.
Staff members within University Relations and Creative Services are working together to create the newsletter.
For the first phase of the project, the W&M Digest will still include user-submitted announcements, like it always has. However, it will also include stories from W&M News, which is published on the William & Mary website, and events from the university calendar. The digest will also include links to allow users to jump to information listed in the index at the top of the email. The revamped W&M Digest is expected to launch Jan. 15.
Phase two of the project will include the creation of the newsletter, which will likely have a different design than the digest and include additional content. Staff members from University Relations will be consulting with various groups on campus during the design process for the newsletter.
