Beginning Aug. 31, the Williamsburg Farmers Market will accept W&M Express as a valid form of payment.

"The Williamsburg Farmers Market applauds the College's commitment to making locally grown, sustainable products available to students.  Over the past eleven years, we have worked to develop a relationship with the College, and this allows us to open the Market to the College community, "said Tracy Herner, market manager.

Students can use their Express dollars to purchase wooden tokens from the Token Tent, which can then be exchanged for merchandise from the individual vendors. Each token is worth $5 and never expires.

“Over the summer, we have worked very hard to recruit new merchants to the W&M Express program. Based on student feedback and demand, the Williamsburg Farmers Market is an obvious choice and we look forward to this new partnership,” said John J Byxbe, associate director of auxiliary services.

Additional merchants on the W&M Express program include Pita Pit, Brickhouse Tavern, CVS and more.  A complete listing of merchants can be found at wm.edu/wmexpress. Express funds may also be used at all campus vending, laundry and copy machines.
