Business School to launch Entrepreneurship Center
The Mason School of Business will officially launch the Alan B. Miller Entrepreneurship Center on October 29 at 1 p.m. with a live webcast of the opening comments from Dean Lawrence B. Pulley, President Taylor Reveley. With the new center the Mason School of Business will be able to engage a far broader expanse of community, and create integral business and participation opportunities for those at every level of the entrepreneurial cycle.
“We are constantly searching for ways to strengthen and add value to our networks. Entrepreneurs are the job creators of tomorrow and we intend for our center to become a hub of programs and initiatives that will help drive growth and innovation,” Pulley said.
The center will feature academic programming - which is currently under way, certificate programs, special training, consulting, roundtables, and symposia, as well as some select sponsorship opportunities.
Dick Ash will serve as the Executive Director of the Alan B. Miller Entrepreneurship Center. Ash is currently Mason’s professor of Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital, Management and Financing of Small Business Enterprises, and Entrepreneurship and Private Equity. Ron Monark will serve as Managing Director of the Center. He brings 25 years of experience as the Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer in information, transportation, and manufacturing companies as well as experience with five new business startups. Additionally Monark is an alumus of the college, serving his alma mater in several capacities, including Chair of The W&M Foundation, Chair of Swem Library board, Chair and/or regional director of several fundraising efforts and is currently Chair of the Smithsonian Libraries Board.
