President Reveley appears on WHRO's 'What Matters'

William & Mary President Taylor Reveley appeared Friday night on WHRO's "What Matters" TV talk show as part of a "University Presidents" roundtable with host Cathy Lewis. Reveley appeared with Old Dominion University President John Broderick and Thomas Nelson Community College Interim President Alvin Schexnider. The half-hour weekly talk show  focuses on issues impacting Hampton Roads and the Commonwealth of Virginia and airs Friday nights at 8:30 p.m. on WHRO digital television 15.1 (local cable PBS channel 15).

PhotoThe presidents discussed a number of topics during the show, including changes in higher education over the past 30 years, impact of the federal stimulus funding on university budgets, trends in state support for operating budgets at institutions of higher education, importance of community college system in Virginia to universities and colleges across the state, and the challenges and differences of serving as an interim president compared to permanent president.

Lewis has hosted the show since March 2008 and also hosts the well-known lunch-hour radio talk show  "HearSay With Cathy Lewis" on WHRV-FM 89.5.
