Tribe football moves up in national polls

After extending its winning streak to four games with a 34-14 victory at Towson last weekend, the William and Mary football team continued to move up in the national polls. The Tribe is ranked 14th in the latest Sports Network FCS Poll and 16th in the FCS Coaches Poll. Last week, the Tribe was ranked 16th in the Sports Network Poll and 19th in the Coaches Poll.

In addition to extending its winning streak to four games, W&M's triumph at Towson was the team¹s sixth win in the last seven games. With a 6-2 record overall and a 4-1 mark in conference play, the College has clinched winning records overall and in league action. The Tribe¹s lone FCS loss this season was against Villanova, which is currently ranked among the top 10 in both national polls.

The Tribe boasts one of the country¹s most productive offenses and currently ranks 11th nationally in total offense (427.00 ypg) and 15th in scoring offense (34.88 ppg). Defensively, W&M also ranks among the nation¹s best and is 22nd in total defense (307.75 ypg) and 20th in pass efficiency defense (110.22).

W&M will look to extend its winning streak to five games when it hosts Northeastern this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Zable Stadium.
