Award-winning team Information Technology recently received two awards from Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group for University and College Computing Services (ACM SIGUCCS). The College of William and Mary's Information Technology recently received two awards from Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group for University and College Computing Services (ACM SIGUCCS).

A total of 24 other colleges and universities were also honored at the 2008 Communications Awards, which recognized achievement in outstanding publications, Web sites and promotional materials produced by higher education computing centers.

The College's IT Web site, the central source of information about technology services at William and Mary, received the Award of Excellence in the category of Computing Services Public Website.  The Tribe Voices program, a Web-based software that can be used to create personal Web sites for the College community, won Best in Category award for Software Distribution (Electronic Media).

"We are honored to be recognized by our peers in higher education," said Susan T. Evans, Director of Web and Communication Services.  "The William and Mary Web team is committed to introducing and supporting easy-to-use, high-quality services and tools for the College community."

ACM SIGUCCS is an association of professionals dedicated to the issues of support, delivery and management of information technology services. These services include a variety of areas, including network management, technical systems support and administration and academic services, as well as database management and audio-visual services.
