W&M Board of Visitors to hold summer retreat July 15-16
The Board of Visitors at the College of William and Mary will hold a summer retreat on July 15-16, 2007 at the Conference Center at Upper Brandon in Prince George County, Va.
Jointly hosted by Michael K. Powell, Rector of the College, and William and Mary President Gene R. Nichol, the retreat will be a two-day workshop focused on professional development. It will be conducted by Kenneth A. Shaw, of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. Shaw is also the former chancellor of Syracuse University.
The retreat, which will be held in the center’s West Lodge Conference Room, begins at 1 p.m. on July 15, 2007 and continues until 5:15 p.m. The Board will reconvene at 8:30 a.m. on July 16 and the workshop concludes at 1 p.m.
The retreat is open to the public, but there will be no opportunity for public comment. The conference center at the Upper Brandon Plantation is located at 1802 Upper Brandon Road in Spring Grove, VA.
