Weather: Conditions on Monday
Sam Jones, chair of the W&M Emergency Management Team, sent the following message to the campus community Jan. 18, 2019. - Ed.
Dear William & Mary community –
The National Weather Service is predicting steady rainfall for Sunday with sharply dropping temperatures into Monday. The combination of those weather factors is likely to cause slippery conditions on campus pathways and roads Sunday night and Monday morning. Please use caution during this period if you have to be out walking or driving on campus. Facilities Management personnel will be monitoring conditions and will treat parking lots, pathways and roads as necessary. Please use these treated pathways even if they are not the most direct route.
Given that this is a holiday weekend, if you are traveling to the western part of Virginia or up the east coast into New England please use caution as the same storm that will bring rain to the Williamsburg area is expected to bring ice and snow to those regions.
