Rescheduled: Test of the W&M Emergency Notification System
Sam Jones, chair of the William & Mary Emergency Management Team, sent the following message to the campus community Sept. 19, 2018. - Ed.
Dear William & Mary community –
The test of the university’s emergency warning and mass notification systems has been rescheduled for 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018.
As I noted in my original message, the drill will include both a test of the campus-wide siren system and the mass notification messaging system (text, phone call, email and Alertus - a notification to your computer screen). If you are not familiar with the sound of William & Mary’s Emergency Alert Siren, you may hear a sample of the tone on the university’s emergency information website. In addition to campus email, text and cell phone, you can also receive emergency messages by following the W&M News Facebook and W&M News Twitter pages as well as the free W&M mobile app.
