Message on the passing of Carolyn A. Rogers
Sam Jones, senior vice president for finance and administration, sent the following message to the campus community Dec. 20, 2018 - Ed.
Dear Colleagues,
I write to share the news that Carolyn A. Rogers, a custodial worker primarily assigned to Jones Hall, passed away on November 11.
Carolyn, who was 67 when she passed, began working at William & Mary in 2006. She was respectful of everyone, diligent in her work, and could always be counted on to greet students, faculty, and staff alike with a “Hello, how ya doin’?”
Outside of W&M, Carolyn loved spending time with her family and eating her favorite cuisine, seafood. Though quiet and reserved at work, at home she expressed herself through dancing and gathering with close friends and family. She is remembered by friends and family for her infectious laughter and her positive, uplifting spirit.
Carolyn lived in Providence Forge. She has been laid to rest at Parrish Hill Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service was held on November 17. Carolyn’s family has created a Life Tributes page for friends and colleagues to share memories and send flowers.
