Dear William & Mary community,
The Williamsburg Police Department has identified a suspect in Saturday morning’s shooting incident at Tribe Square and is asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Last night, the department obtained warrants for John Lee Johnson, 22, of Newport News. Johnson has been charged with one count of maiming, two counts of reckless discharge of a firearm, two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and one count of brandishing. More information and a photo may be found in this press release from the Williamsburg Police Department.
Police have not yet been able to locate Johnson and are asking people with any information to call 757-220-2331 or contact the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. And, as always, you may call the William & Mary Police Department at 757-221-4596.
Please keep in mind the safety precautions outlined in my email from the weekend.
