Dear Colleagues:
I write to share the sad news of the passing of Joseph Cecil Collier on Friday, June 24, 2016, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Cecil was born on October, 27, 1953. He attended Berkeley High School and retired in 2014 from the Facilities Management Department as a custodial worker. Cecil was a loving and kind person who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cecil is survived by his son, DeCarlos King, who also works in the Facilities Management Department at William & Mary; his parents, Delores and Cecil Collier; his brother, Michael Collier; his sister, Colette Roots, who works in the post office at William & Mary ; three grandchildren; his aunt, Linda Walters; his uncle, Lewis Tyler; his nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives with many caring friends.
A funeral service was held on June 29, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
To Cecil’s friends, to those around campus whose lives he touched, and especially to his family, we extend our deepest sympathy.
Sincerely,
John
