Police: Bomb threats not credible

UPDATE: Sam Jones sent the following message to the campus community March 25. - Ed.

Dear William & Mary Community –

I wanted to update you on the ongoing investigation into the emailed bomb threats received by university offices earlier this week.

At this point in the investigation, the FBI, working in conjunction with William & Mary Police, have determined these are not credible threats. Law enforcement continues to investigate the emails but I wanted to let you know they have determined there is no threat to the university.  

As always, if you receive any unusual or suspicious email, please notify William & Mary Police immediately at 757-221-4596.

Dear William & Mary Community –

Over the past 24 hours, William & Mary has received emails indicating a future bomb threat. While no immediate threats to campus have been identified, we want the community to be aware.  William & Mary Police, in conjunction with the FBI, is investigating the credibility of these messages.  If you receive such an email or if you notice anything unusual or suspicious, please notify William & Mary Police immediately at 757-221-4596.
